Glorious Peugeot Perthus Pro from the late 80s. The top of the range from the 1988 Peugeot catalog, fully built with Reynolds 753 tubing, the finest tubings of Reynolds back then. The paintjob is absolutely stunning and survived all those years very well!
It is not a period correct build, rather my own twist with some of my favourite vintage parts. Since it’s a French bike I decided to kit it with as many MAVIC parts as I could. It has my favourite derailleur, the classic Mavic SSC 851 model, with its matching front version. Mavic crankset, brakes levers, brake calipers and obviously a full Mavic Wheelset with those buttery smooth 501 hubs. The shifters are Simplex retro friction shifters, Simplex branded but they used to be also be produced for Mavic without the branding. And to finish it off, a lovely bartape from Grepp and a fitting white Turbo saddle. What a bike!
